extending login time

Post by durangod » Fri Sep 14, 2018 9:25 pm

I need to extend login time for admin as it might take me 5 min or so between things to do and i dont want to have to login each time. I did change session time via the acp, but i dont know if that is all i need to do or not....

Thanks :)

I was correct i logged off and checked the box, went to acp, then worked on something else on another browser for 5 min or so... went back to acp and refreshed the screen and i had to log into acp again..... how can we extend this time... thanks

the answer seems to be this ....

in acp->security settings

Maximum time to submit forms:

i believe the default was 3600, i changed it to 10000 just to test and then went to the board, let it sit there and was on the phone for a bit... went back and was able to get right back into acp no problem....

what are your cookie settings?

that setting you changed should not have any affect on sessions for simply sitting on a page. that is normally just for sitting when you have a form open and then submit later.

pizza always gives you temporary relief.

how about a link to the board so I can check the cookies.

ok the login problems are almost always cookie issues.

currently you have oxamerica.com in the cookie domain, it should be .oxamerica.com ( notice the dot in front )

change that and change the cookie name ( add or substract a character )
submit and then purge the cache and refresh your browser.

test and see how it acts.

Your cookie settings are good. I see you're running cloudflare, try disabling that and see what happens. Clear the cloudflare cache as well.

Yeah im on the CF free plan... ill have to wait till tomorrow to test that but ill keep you all posted.

Well it appears all it took was some time... waiting overnight seemed to do the trick... not a big issue now... i did remove it from CF temp but i saw no difference. So i guess we can call this one resolved as well.
