After the update i'm having problems with uploading fresh jpg
It must be a different error message/problem back then.

(only in PNG)
PNG is another format, processed differently, hence no problem here.

so for me it seems to be a bug then?
I already said so. Do you want me to rephrase that?

Conclusion: it's a bug. Either because of Adobe Photoshop not complying the JFIF standard, or because of phpBB not being intelligent enough.
In other words: Adobe Photoshop which is creating your JPEG files produces corrupt files intentionally. phpBB on the other hand is not expecting corrupt files either. The former is acting wrong, and the latter is not flexible enough.

I created PHPBB3-15103 and wonder what they'll do with it.

The solution would be to not use Adobe to create image files.

I have just posted here: viewtopic.php?f=556&t=2412146

I think I have the same issue.

If I use photoshop, save from my iphone, use a windows image resizer etc. It will not upload.

I also get the same error on this board.

The images work fine on an older install of PHPBB (3.0)

So do we have a bug in 3.2?

I don't think the solution not to use Adobe (or in my case iphones either) is the solution since these are some of the most common applications on the planet.

Is there a code hack I can use as a work around?

Save it as .bmp or .tff or .png and use another software to export/save it as a .jpeg?¿
Maybe Irfan-View, just a Q.

You could use another software (I don't mention it) to strip all metas and obtain a .jpeg standard, but you'll lose a lot of relative data. So I don't think it's a good idea.

Btw, this topic started/followed with a reply referencing a topic where I actively posted/helped out, but that topic has nothing (and never had) a do with this one. ;)

Surely you would use whatever image type for the job in hand? GIF, PNG and JPG are different things not the same things with different sizes.
