That is controlled by ACP > User registration settings > Limit username chars

you find settings for this under
ACP - tab GENERAL - user registration settings

right side: general settings

"Limit username chars:
Restrict type of characters that may be used in usernames, spacers are: space, -, +, _, [ and ]."

There you can choose whatever you want.

My 2 cents: Whether an extension is in the CDB says nothing about its quality. It is more important to read the support topics for it. Better to avoid authors who do not answer support questions themselves, who do not update their stuff, and who do not fix bugs for years.

I chose Any char. as pic below. But it show: "The username you entered has been disallowed or contains a disallowed word. Please choose a different name. The entered email domain has no valid MX record."

I see:
The username you entered has been disallowed or contains a disallowed word. Please choose a different name
Have you any idea why that word is disallowed? Maybe your host has mod_security set too strictly?

Hi Mick

Thanks for you help.
I asked my host provider to doublecheck and they said something wrong with the source code. They asked me to restore the previous version be'coz they checked and that version was ok.

I intend to restore it.

Restoring is a bit pointless at the moment.

What's in the admin panel > users and groups > disallow usernames (bottom of the menu)
