What actions did you take (updating your board; installing a MOD, style or extension; etc.) prior to this problem becoming noticeable? Board was updated from 3.0.14 (not in your list) to 3.2 following instructions here viewtopic.php?f=556&t=2398876. Extensions installed as above and some work done to remove old MODs like ACP_PORTAL from lists.
This was done after several rehearsals and building a 'sister' site online to test.
Please describe your problem. I noticed a notification of unread PMs - easy fix - just mark all as read.
Since upgrade one user has reported seeing PMs from other users and another (a site admin) reports have lost all PMs (since some of those were to me and I can still see, I'm assuming they are not lost just not indexed properly.

Does your site use a caching system such as Cloudflare?
There have been numerous reports on this board of users seeing other user's data when Cloudflare is used.

The extent of the problem is not as serious as I have been lead to believe. So far a few users report having notification of unread PMs and one user has reported seen PMs which didn't belong to him. The mass loss of PMs was a user error.
So far as I can tell, without raising a support request, my hosting provider does not use cloudfare. I will however, raise a request.
