Problem with [/list]

Post by TJK » Sat Jul 15, 2017 4:47 pm

I have been using phpbb for some years now but one problem keeps coming up in the last few weeks. If I use the list enumerated environment sometimes not always the [/list] is being duplicated for no reason.

That is I get something like this.
  1. first list
  2. second list

I don't think that this an expected behaviour , but why does the second [/list] appear? Needless to say that this is irritating.

Those aren't lists, it's only one list with two items.

Most likely you're talking about a 3.0.x installation and most likely you open more lists than you close, because back in the 3.0.x times the parser would add missing closing list tags. Of course, this may be misinterpreted as "duplicated for no reason" when being sure not having used the BBCode improperly and without knowing about this parser's "feature".

My theory is correct if you can reproduce the problem with this:

Code: Select all

opening first list: [list=1]
[*]item 1, opening second list: [list=a]
[*]item 1a[/list] still in item 1 and failing to close list
