If I understand you correctly - you want the newest post in a topic at the top. If that is the case then it is a \User option via UCP > Board preferences > Edit display options > Display post order direction = Ascending

It's a user preference so it's in the user control panel.

You can use this extension to set the order for new users - viewtopic.php?f=456&t=2428976, but it will not stop the user to changing it to any other setting that they wish

Except.. checking that.. doesnt do what I hoped. Perhaps the software can't do what I want. Just in case I'm not explaining it good = I start a new thread, add a reply.. and then a 2nd.. I want the 2nd reply to be the TOP one.. and gradually older posts get shoved down.. always the newest is first.. (top)..Any thoughts? Kinda good when you are posting a news item.. and then add later developments..

You've already been told how to do it.

You actually CAN stop users from changing this preference by disabling corresponding UCP modules via ACP.

Same problem here but I need the 1st reply (topic head) always at the top, and the rest replies are sorted from newest to oldest! is that can be done?!

You probably mean the topic starting post and not the first reply (which is the second post made in a topic).
My board's not broken, it just went peculiar
