I recently migrated to a new web host and have been having this issue with phpBB since. Not sure if it's relevant, but all my forums, threads, posts, and user registrations were migrated over successfully from my old host.

This search issue is the last quirk I have yet to figure out. Appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks for the reply. After looking at that, I think my problem was tied to the Search Backend option. It was set on "Sphinx Fulltext", but I had no idea what to put into the related fields.

I changed it to "phpBB Native Fulltext", rebuilt the index, and now it looks like it's working.

Is there any advantage/disadvantage to the phpBB search option versus the other ones?

I wouldn't worry about it, if it works it's good. I'd say any difference between engines is negligible in most cases.
