Site Logo extension not enabled

Post by jhearcht » Sat Sep 16, 2017 6:39 pm

phpBB3.2.1 on Windows 10

I have installed new Styles and Language in my forum, but I can't figure out how to install the "Site Logo" extension to allow me to modify the appearance of the forum.

I uploaded the unzipped files from "david63_site logo-3.2" into the "ext" folder under "phpBB3" root. In "Extensions Manager" only "VigiLink is listed as enabled. I don't see any way to find and enable the "Site Logo" extension.

Where can I find a list of available extensions in the "ext" folder that I can choose to enable? Shouldn't it automatically appear in the Extensions Manager after the files are placed in the directory?

The folder should be called
/david63
not
/david63_site logo-3.2

Then inside that is a folder called /sitelogo with the contents you have uploaded.

/ext/david63/sitelogo
then all the adm, etc folders

I renamed "david63-site logo-3.2" to "david63". But the extension still doesn't appear in the Extension Manager. There is no folder "ent/sitelogo under "david63". There is an "ent/acp" folder with "sitelogo_info.php" and "sitelogo_module.php". But they appear to be just text files. Is something missing from the download?

There is no folder "ent/sitelogo under "david63".
You need to create if first. Every single extension must be in its own folder under every single vendor folder related.

That is correct - there shouldn't be. There is no such folder as ent.

I hope that there isn't. You should have ext/david63/sitelogo/acp

I would appreciate it if you were to report issues with the extension in the topic for that extension.

David

Thanks for the help. I created the folder "SiteLogo" under the "ext" folder, and the forum now works. I was assuming that all files & folders would be installed automatically, since the instructions didn't say anything about creating a new sub-folder. You might want to add that information to the instructions.

I didn't know there was a forum for "SiteLogo". Now I do. Next time I'll post there.

it says the following:
If you downloaded an extension named "foobar" from the author/vendor "acme" then it would be uploaded to "ext/acme/foobar".

You don't.

When you unzip it you get a folder called /david63 which has everything in it in the right place. You just upload that one folder and you're done.
