Extension tab missing from ACP

Post by Blacktiger63 »

Support Request Template
What version of phpBB are you using? phpBB 3.2.1
What is your board's URL? No answer given
Who do you host your board with? my own hosting company
How did you install your board? I used the download package from phpBB.com
What is the most recent action performed on your board? Update from a previous version of phpBB3
Is registration required to reproduce this issue? Yes
Do you have any MODs installed? No
Do you have any extensions installed? No
What version of phpBB3 did you update from? phpBB 3.0.14
What styles do you currently have installed? Prosilver
What language(s) is your board currently using? Britisch and dutch
Which database type/version are you using? MySQL 5
What is your level of experience? New to PHP but not phpBB
What username can be used to view this issue? No answer given
What password can be used to view this issue? No answer given
What actions did you take (updating your board; installing a MOD, style or extension; etc.) prior to this problem becoming noticeable? I took over the technical administration from somebody else. He messed up the mods. There were no mods installed but the .mods tab in 3.0.14 gave errors.
So I deleted the .mods and ACP_CAT_MODS module. Thought it made no difference because I new 3.1.x and 3.2.x would use extensions.
After that I upgraded to 3.2.1 which went fine.
Please describe your problem. I wanted to install an extension and got the error notice:
A required module does not exist: ACP_CAT_DOT_MODS.

I can't install/enable extensions and my EXT tab won't appear in the ACP.

It's not the extension tab you should be looking for.

ACP > Customise > Manage Extensions

Thanks

Dear Elias.

ACP > Customise > Manage Extensions is not the problem.
It exists, and an extension can be seen there when uploaded to the /forum/ext folder.
But when trying to install the extension, I get the error described above and no extension will be installed, only this error appears and no EXT tab appears either.

Which should appear after installing an extension, as seen in other phpbb forums I administer. ;)
But no extensions will be installed due to this error.

Seems like an extension problem then?

Which extension are you trying to install?

No, I think it might be wise to reread what happened before about the modules I deleted in 3.0.14.

The error occurs with *any* extension, even the one from phpbb itself (where you can earn money) but also with multilink, stop forum spam... it's not an extension issue it's a database issue imho.

Re-create the module manually.

ACP > System > Module management > Administration Control Panel > Create new module.

Name = Extensions
Module language name = ACP_CAT_DOT_MODS
Module type = Category
Parent = No parent
Module enabled = Yes
