New member post limit reached but moderation still required

Post by iblueyonder » Sat Nov 11, 2017 1:21 am

I'm having an issue with my new member post limit feature in 3.2.1. I have it set to "1" currently, and it's definitely adding new users into the NRU group. However, once they have an approved post they're still in the group. I've had to approve up to 8 or 9 posts from some active users, and they're sitll in the NRU group. Is there another setting I missed that makes sure they're taken out of NRU once the post limit is reached?

A member does not move out of the NRU group until they next login after having the required number of posts approved - so it is possible that they have made several posts before the first one was approved and that have not logged in since.

The users are indeed being moved into the Registered Users group, but apparently they're still not able to post without approval. I'm not sure where to look to find out why that is. Has anyone else dealt with this problem and solved it?

I followed one user in particular who had posted 9 times, each requiring approval. I had him log out and back in, but his posts still went into the approval queue. I checked his account, and he's in the RU group, and it's set to be his default group. All registered users, according to my permissions settings for that forum, have Standard Access + Polls permissions.

When the Newly registered users group is used, users are NOT "moved into" the Registered users group - they are there from the beginning. They ARE moved out of NRU. Was your user still in NRU?

do you have tapatalk installed and are these users posting from tapatalk? if so its a known issue and you will have to remove them from NRU group manually

The posts in question were made with a web browser, not Tapatalk. I checked on some sample users, and they're in both NRU and RU, so it looks as though they're not being taken out of the NRU group. I'll use the template to file a support request.

Please describe your problem. I have set a requirement of one approved post in order for users to be removed from the NRU group. If you want to PM me an admin login, I will take a look, because that's going to be the easiest way to find the issue.
