HELP TO CONFIGURE FRESH PHPBB

Post by hypersaw » Fri Nov 17, 2017 5:35 pm

Hi, guys.

Installed fresh phpbb (BIG THANKS GOES TO LITHUANIAN TRANSLATOR @fatalerroras) I'am so exited to get newest phpbb in my language!

What are best practice to creating user groups and choosing them? I Have a facebook group ~5000 users, so thinking to transfer a good chunk of these users to my phpbb ;)

Hi! I'm glad to hear you've got your translated version of phpBB set up. :)

What exactly would you like to know about setting up groups? Do the groups get different permissions?

Yes JimA, I need to have admin, moderators, power users, users and new users.

Well, the user groups Administrators and Global Moderators are already there by default.
So is the Registered Users group and the Newly Registered Users group. You can apply all sorts of Permissions to these groups.

That only leaves the Power Users group. You can of course create the group in your ACP -> Users & Groups -> Manage Groups and start assigning permissions to it. But I have no idea what a Power User is and how you'd get to be in the group. :)
