Automatic Update File

Post by spacebiscuit »

Is the automatic update package no longer available, if so why not?

I am running 3.2.0 and I wan to upgrade my version to 3.2.1 - the changed files zip looks like a full zip and I am worried I may over-write some customisation.

What is the simplest and easiest way to upgrade?

Thnaks.

If you edited the core files without extensions then yes they will be lost.

There were issues with the auto update package and it was withdrawn. There should be no need for it in any case, you shouldn’t be editing core files, that’s why we have extensions.

I haven;t edited the core, but I am sure I read in the readme that any custom extensions might be overwritten.

Will the update files leave my customised CSS in-tact?

If you edited the core files, yes.
If you modified your phpBB with extensions, no.
