Import member list from another installation

Post by JohnnyBigSpuds »

I have a 3.1.11 forum and we are changing the domain
and totally redoing the site, all members will get an email
telling them of the changes.
Is it possible to extract a complete member ( with their passwords intact without me seeing ) list
from my 3.1.11 installation and transplant it to the new 3.2 installation to save them re registering?
thanks

thanks for that, way over my head lol
i think as i only had 100 or so members,
i will just copy their name and email address and add user via ACP
then when the new site goes online, before i disable the old site,
i will send them an email with a reset password link
i think that will be much easier lol
( ill do that Sunday me thinks, shouldnt take too long )

No you can't (easily if at all) but what you could do is follow Knowledge Base - Transferring Your Board to a New Host or Domain.

I am confused. Why can you not just move the 3.1 board to the new host and upgrade it to 3.2 so all info remains intact? Then delete whatever you don't want.
I can stop all your spam. I can upgrade or update your Board. PM or email me. (Paid support)

I had issues with lots of mods not being compatiable and totally rebranding but i had a problem with the board going nuts and adding links to private forums in the wrong catagories and basicaly being a mess whilst the acp shows all ok.

So decided to get a new installtion of 3.2 and add correct working mods to it.
Its no biggie really as it gives me the chsnge to rebuild from the very start.

There are no "mods" for 3.2

And the reason why core changes are no longer recommended is for exactly the problems your having.

It is possible to move your database to a new domain and at the same time install a 321 version without extentions. Am I right?!?
