A magazine publisher owns a forum. They have suddenly decided to close it with very little notice.
I have proposed taking over stewardship of the forum and hosting it. The guy I have asked about this says no can do because it would violate the terms and conditions that people signed up for when they registered as members.
So I proposed getting some code written whereby every member is contacted via their email and asked to go to a page where they click either yes to remain on the new forum or no, delete my account. Those who don't reply within 10 days automatically get their account deleted.
Can this be done? Has anyone done this before? Does some code already exist?
This is something which should be done before the transfer of the board (by the former owner).
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.
