phpBB-3.2.0_to_3.2.2

Post by wads24 » Thu Jan 18, 2018 3:50 pm

Last night my webhost went down during uploading the update files. I just let my FTP retry over and over and went to bed, and sometime last night it finished when the server was back up. I do have my forum in the root directory, and am confused why there is a phpbb folder.

I got this error :

The file differ failed to open Array.

Code: Select all

[phpBB Debug] "file_get_contents(../install/update/new/ext/phpbb/viglink/acp/viglink_helper.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory" in file /hsphere/local/home/phpbb/install/module/update_filesystem/task/diff_files.php on line 144
[phpBB Debug] "Array to string conversion" in file /hsphere/local/home/install/update/new/phpbb/language/language.php on line 313
So, I installed the files again and did the update through the above URL and it says that it was successful, but now not able to access the site or admin. Just shows a blank /white page. No errors.

When I go back to the install folder i get this message:
The installer has detected a timeout, you may try to refresh the page, which may lead to data corruption. We suggest that you either increase your timeout settings or try to use the CLI.
Do you think that we should restore a back up of the database and the website files and try the update again?
Thanks in advance for a reply.

Better use this method

Would I need to remove or uninstall extensions?
Thanks in advance for a reply.

Only check if you have the latest version, but no need to remove them.

If you want to ensure that you do not have problems with extensions then you could use the Disable all Extensions extension to disable them before the update and then re-enable them one at a time
