Travis folder

Post by John connor » Sat Feb 17, 2018 1:42 pm

I see this folder in all my extensions. What exactly is it and what does it do? And why the name Travis?

If you see that folder, you probably use github versions of the extensions and not extensions from cdb.

See travis for more information

This can't be the reason why it's named Travis.

I wonder why you are so strict in security (as you stated multiple times) but still using extensions not yet validated.

Extensions that are in the CDB don't have any travis folder.

BTW i am not used to provide packages with travis inside. That's another story though. :)

HAHA So far so good! I'm sure if they were extensions that were meant to hack my forum, I would have been hacked by now. But I digress, my host has Suhosin installed so that should help. I really don't think any of the extensions I downloaded here that offered their extension via github are made for hacking forums.

You do know Halloween is over?

I do not think there could be someone who wants to wast some time in "hacking" your forum.

And why the name Halloween? 8-)

The hat in the corner of your avatar is a witch's hat.

And BTW - I believe I have a few of your extensions.

Don't take them from github, that's the thumb of rule.
I personally do not commit anything new there if not already published here with a package of mine w/out Travis etc..
.. lastly, I got used to use private repositories just to avoid situations like this.

And finally, that's not a support ticket at all IMHO, simply google for Travis and you will know, old story short. :)

About my hat, see if you can get something else to think about. :P
A trivial and irrilevant note, I can say, since you don't know the reasons of it.

Thanks.

I don't think he means extensions designed to hack your site. It's about untested code that might have vulnerabilities.
