Broke everything while updating 3.1.x to 3.2.2

Post by jsoldi » Sat Feb 17, 2018 5:38 pm

I followed instructions on https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3 ... upgrade31/ to upgrade and at step 12.5, at 97%, I got a timeout error. I unfortunately didn't make a backup of my database so I guess right now is somewhere in between version 3.1 and 3.2. I wonder if it is possible to export all the important data from the database using SQL (users, posts, forums) and then install version 3.2.2 from scratch and then import them back into my freshly installed forum.

Well you missed step #3 of the instructions. Try running the database update again and post a screenshot of the final screen.

I really don't mind having to run a few SQL queries and setting up a new forum. I only care about the users and posts info. Anyway, here's my screenshot:

Have a look at this. If that doesn’t help can you post your config.php contents in code tags minus the password please?

This is it:

Code: Select all

<?php
// phpBB 3.0.x auto-generated configuration file
// Do not change anything in this file!
$dbms = 'mysql';
$dbhost = 'localhost';
$dbport = '';
$dbname = 'heliumsc_forum';
$dbuser = 'heliumsc_user';
$dbpasswd = 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx';
$table_prefix = 'phpbb_';
$acm_type = 'file';
$load_extensions = '';

@define('PHPBB_INSTALLED', true);
// @define('DEBUG', true);
// @define('DEBUG_EXTRA', true);
?>
