Getting Spam Post from Random (Unsearchable users)

Post by UXgizmo » Sun Mar 18, 2018 7:19 am

I'm running 3.2.2 and I'm having issues with multiple spam post from users that are unsearchable from ACP. The ability to register to board is turned off. The only thing I can do is delete them as they are get posted to the board. How do I setup an approval process for all posts? Is there another setting that I need to enable to beef up the security? Thoughts suggestions?

What's the address of the board?

Sounds like you might have guest posting enabled. Have you logged out to see if you can post in the same way they do?

I changed the guest / anonymous account to read only but a guest can still post a new topic to the board? Thoughts our suggestions?

For every forum? Did you use User permissions, or did you give the Guests group a read-only access role for all forums? Is Anonymous in the Guest group and is it the ONLY member of the Guest group?

Without a link, this is very difficult for us.

test1 comes up as anonymous in the acp. It doesn't seem like anonymous is a part of the guest group when I go to change permissions I have to change them separately.

the anonymous user should be in the guest group and no other group.
the anonymous user should be the only one in the guest group.

Look in the guest group and see who’s in there.

I moved "test1" (Anonymous user) to the guest group. Here's some screenshots. Does this appear to be correct based on the screenshots I attached.

Should I remove "test1" ( anonymous user) from administrators group?
