Admin 401 error

Post by the_toolman »

Hi there,

I made a new install of v3.2 yesterday and everything worked fine.

Today, I tried to go to my admin: http://website.com/adm and I am getting a 401 error page.

I have not changed anything since yesterday - I simply installed the forum and set up a test sub forum.

Any ideas what is causing this?

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry, but I can't see the link at the bottom of the page. Which link is it I'm looking for?

I see.

I am having various problems; I cannot log in anymore using the admin registered details. When I try to reset the password using the username and email address it gives me a "the submitted for is invalid".

One thing I have done is to set up a domain in my hosts file which points to the IP it is installed on as I haven't purchased the domain yet. Could this be something to do with it?

Do you have any MODs installed? No
Do you have any extensions installed? No

Please describe your problem. I cannot log into the admin panel - I made a fresh install, but when I enter the admin username and password, it just redirects me back to the homepage without logging me in. When I try to use the forgotten password tool, it says my email is not valid, but it is there when I view the database. Also when I try to register a new user, the CAPTCHA/security code image doesn't go through no matter how many times I try.
