Site/Forum Indexed Correctly???

Post by Lownoise » Mon May 21, 2018 6:04 pm

Hi folks!

Question:

I'm not sure if my forum is indexed correctly. Bots have full permission to view my forums and they are online often, several of them.. but when I try to search for a topic on Google afterwords it isn't displayed anywhere.. zero results! I'm afraid that people can't find my board! What can I do more? Does anyone have any tips or feedback? I haven't been welcoming any new users at all, surely not from Google, except a few I did recruid myself.

Board went online 3 months ago.

All help is welcome!

My forum URL is in my signature.

Thx!

Yes. 5 pages:
What did you search for?

Anyway I have allot of competition, there are several boards out there related to trance music, but how the hell did they build up that frickin' user database? For example one of those boards has 80.000 members. I can't even welcome a few new ones in 3 months time? Does it have something to do with METATAGS? Do I want to go to fast? Should I just give it the time? Most of the time when I see a new user popup it's damn spam lol :|

And when people say, post, post, post allot, content blabla, yeah I know but I'm getting a bit tired of talking to myself in topics each time.. :?

I think we had this discussion previously but the area that is your passion (I know) is so well covered by the miriad of existing bulletin boards, FB, Twitter, Soundclick, the list goes on. You need to have something the other sites don’t have, a one to one interview with PvD or a historical look at the life of Tony de Vit might do it.

Don’t be too mesmerised about the member numbers of other sites, they can be frigged or could be spam bots.

Hi Mick,

Yes we had this conversation before and yes I know it's hard to be succesful with all the other existing boards and social media nowadays, but I did expect to have a little more new members in 3,5 months time than I have now. That's why I thought it had something to do with not indexing my site good enough on Google. But how is this with other board software like iNViSioN and VBulletin? For example, when I copy/paste one of there topic titles in Google I directly get a hit on that specific topic. When I do the same with one of my topics of my forum I'm getting zero results. Strange isn't it?

They've probably been going a lot longer than you. Years and years. They will have also started with tiny numbers but trance has been around for 30 years so they've had a long time to build up the numbers. It's much easier to get a board going when you're the only one (or one of very few) on the subject. Coming late in to a saturated market is very very difficult.

You are doing something wrong then.
I type in "uplifting euphoria #027 trance-vizion" in Google and your topic comes up at the top.

Yeah maybe it works with some.. But when I do the following:

OUT NOW: Rielism presents Riel Trance [Compilation - Rielism] trance-vizion

I'm only getting hits on AH.fm (first search result). Is this because they have a much bigger database or what? Google finds that more interesting and important than my small database?

That is a brand-new topic. When is the last time Google indexed your site?

Google's cached copy of your index page, dated May 17, has a "Register" link and a "Logout" link. Why is that? Bots should have neither.
