Where can code {SITENAME}?

Post by chanlon1 »

All,
I am aware of the Site Logo extension, however, I would rather wait till it is properly released before installing it on a production site.

On my site, I choose not to have a Site Name in the settings.
However, because it isn't set, a lot of the email that get sent out just have "" instead of "site name" in them.

Is there a particular file I can edit and hardcode the Site Name field into, so that it appears only in the emails?
Or do I have to manually edit each email text file?

thanks

Wouldn't it be easier to put your sitename in your settings?

Best to delete "sitename" from the overall_header.html

I used to have it and then got a new logo that had the name in the logo.
So having it twice didn’t look good

actually it would be better to add some css to the sitename/description that makes it not display so that the search engines will still pick up that info. just deleting it will cost you in search engine placement etc.

for instance.

Surely the fact that I have nothing in the site name already means that any SEO can’t be any worse?

the point is that if you put something in the site name and description fields in the board config settings of the admin panel, then set it to not display, then the search engines will still see it. remember, the search engines never see what the page looks like, they only see the code for the page.

we see what the page looks like after the code has been applied etc.
