I Use postimage but the pictures are always on the leftside. It would have been better if they became more centered

Not by default, they’re custom BBCodes you can add as and when you need them. See Knowledge Base - Adding Custom BBCodes in phpBB3

Want to switch from postimage to something better. Maybe to Imgur or something. What happens to all images uploaded to the image? Are they disappearing?

I strongly recommend Imgur.

We moved from postimage and have never looked back. My fear is that they will eventually ransom all of our thousands and thousands of image as ransom if we don't pay, but hey, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it, as imgur works so well for the time being.

And Imgur is a bad choice because it

has no thumbnails (so all you can post is text links)
doesn't preserve filenames
is not primarily a picture hoster but more like a social network
has TOS saying:
- files can vanish at any time
- manipulates pictures
- doesn't want mass storage
- PNG files over 5MB will be converted to JPEGs (quality loss)
- Non-animated images over 1MB for anonymous uploads and 5MB for account holders will be lossily compressed (quality loss)
- All non-animated images receive lossless compression (file manipulation)
- Upload limit of 50 images per IP address per hour (good luck with that one)
