What actions did you take (updating your board; installing a MOD, style or extension; etc.) prior to this problem becoming noticeable? Upgraded from phpBB 3.1.6 to 3.2.2 using the recommended procedure of uploading a fresh install, after first removing the required files and directories. Most, but not all, of the extensions above were either installed new, or updated. The Pages extension was previously working with 3.1.6.
Please describe your problem. The below-detailed problem began immediately upon upgrading from phpBB 3.1.6 to 3.2.2.

The link to report a post and the page links (Copyright Notice, Mission & Forum Rules) are not working. Each has extraneous syntax entered. For example, if I click "Report Post," the link is https://www.texaschlforum.com/app.phpvi ... 973/report and I get a 404 page not found error. However, if I remove the extraneous "viewtopic.php" from the link and use http://texaschlforum.com/app.php/post/1204973/report, it works.

The page link problem is identical, but with different extraneous syntax. For example, if you click on "Forum Rules," the erroneous link is https://www.texaschlforum.com/app.phpindex.php/rules and again you get a 404 page not found error message. If I remove the extraneous "index.php" the link works.

check in the admin panel under server settings. if you have that set to yes, then change it to no or, make sure the path is correct.

All server settings are set to "no" except for "Enable ZGrip compression." The paths seem to be correct.

Is it possible for me to edit the code to prevent addition of the extraneous syntax?

Thanks,
Chas.

Cookie secure needs to be enabled if you’re using SSL.

Thanks, I just tried that but it didn't fix the link problem.

I would suspect one or more of your extensions, as several of them massage links. Disable all of them, and then activate them one at a time and test.

Now your Cookie domain has a forward slash (/) at the end, that needs to be removed like .texaschlforum.com.

I think that was a remnant from some of the changes I tried. However, I now have a bigger problem because I can't log in to change that! Others are logged in, so it's not the entire board that is locked down.

Chas.

UPDATE: I can log in with Internet Explorer, but not Firefox. I received numerous emails form members who now cannot log in.

I deleted the slash and the problem remains. BTW, the login problem apparently was caused by enabling secure cookie.

That's exactly what I thought, so I deactivated them one at a time and it didn't cure the problem. Interestingly, when some where deactivated, the board would not come up until I reactivated the extension. I could then deactivate them again. Alternatively, I had to purge the cache after disabling each extension.

I doubt that, if you’re using SSL cookie secure HAS to be enabled. If you’re getting problems when it’s enabled it will be something else (http/https?) that’s causing it. If it’s not an extension it may be something to do with your server set up.

Perhaps, but setting "Force server URL settings" to yes didn't fix the link problems. It merely caused the login problem. Also, the board has had an SSL for at least two years and the "Force server URL settings" has always been set to no, with no problems.

what it boils down to is that if you did not change anything and the board changes that leaves your host having changed something.

you should contact them to see what they may have done to cause this .
