Is this table part of phpBB?

Hi, I'm running phpBB 3.2.1.

While looking through the database structure, I found a table called phpbb_users_old. Is this table part of the standard phpBB database? I can't find any match for that name anywhere on the internet.

I'm not the only who has had access to the server since the forum began, and it's possible that someone may have copied the phpbb_users table as a backup while doing some maintenance on it.

Thanks for any help.

That table is not in a vanilla install of phpBB, but whether your board is using it for anything is another question that only you will have the answer to.

Thanks for that.

Well, I installed 3.2.1 from scratch on this server, and the only thing that was transferred was the database. I've worked out that the table only contains members up to about Aug 2012, which was well before the clean install of 3.2.1, and I'm the only one who's had access since then.

So to summarise ( :) ) I'm pretty confident I can drop that table safely (I'm still doing a DB backup before I do it though!).

You can just leave it if you want, it’s causing no harm.

It contains personal details of members I've just deleted for GDPR, so I need to get rid of it.

Dropped the table and everything still works! 8-)

Less to back up every night as well, so all good.
