Importing from another site

Post by SovereignGrace »

I have been using pro boards for quite a while and just created a new site via free motion. Can I import all members and their posts from there to my new site?

Here’s my site...

http://the-dog-house.forumotion.com/

Please let me know. Thanks bunches.

Do you have full access to your old boards database and files and have full access on your new host? If yes then yes if no you may be struggling.

Yes, it’s still active. forumotion seems to be better, with better emojis.

just because it is active does not mean you have access to the files and the database.

can you download a database backup ? I doubt it, at least not for free.
can you use ftp to connect to your account and download the files? I doubt it with the free boards.

if you want control of your own phpbb board then you need to stop using the free phpbb sites and get a domain name and a hosting account and install it yourself.
by default, phpbb does not come with anyh emojis, only smilies.

Forumotion is not using our files for their forums.
Notice the support link at the bottom of your page does not come back here. It goes to a forumotion page.
