E-mail packet size

Post by John connor » Sat Jul 07, 2018 4:17 pm

What exactly is this other then the obvious that it's packet size. I have mine set to 0 since I read someone say that helped with the E-mail settings. Whether I need it at 0 or not I don't know, but so far E-mail works with no issues so I don't touch it.

I have noticed that if email package size is 0 emails take longer to go out. I think this is because each one goes out individually and phpBB will wait for a success before doing the next one. On busy boards this may be annoying.

If you set the email packet size to zero on the email settings page phpBB does not queue up the emails. This can result in delays as the confirmation waits until all notification emails are sent.

If you have a low-trafic board leave it to 0 and you will get "immediate" emails, that's why is a good decision in some cases.. like mine as for example.
