User Forum Access

Post by jeffboulton »

Hello,

I would like to see which forums a user has access to. Is it possible to pick a user and see which forums they have been granted access to?

Thanks.

ACP, Permissions tab, Permissions masks, Forum-based permissions, all forums, the user, submit.

Thank you. When I do this, I get:

This page isn’t working
.... is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500

I wonder if there is something I need to enable on the server to handle this? Thanks.

I have 49 main forum areas with 24 sub forms for each.

Holy hell.
With over 1100 forums you're very close to having a total meltdown on how many forums you can handle.

There is very little traffic in the forum area - 500 members with the max of 35 users being on the system consecutively (Total posts 6377 • Total topics 2129). I have it running on my dedicated server so I can allocate resources to the site if needed.

Well, that's the reason that the "all forums" selection doesn't work in the Permission masks. Trust us - that is too many forums by half, at least. The permissions checking will bring things to a halt no matter how many resources you throw at it.

how many of those forums actually have topics/posts in them? you would be better off slimming down that list of forums to the ones that actually are being used. then only add new ones when there is a real need for them by your members.
