Problems with emails

Post by prl »

Hello,

I have a 3.2.0 installation of phpBB. Right now newly registered users are not receiving confirmation emails and I am clueless as why this is happening. This wasn't happening before. I don't think notification emails are being sent either.

I have the following settings in my ACP:

General settings:
  • Enable board-wide emails: Enabled
  • Email package size: 0
  • Contact email address: admin@mydomain
  • Return email address: admin@mydomain
SMTP settings:
  • Use SMTP server for email: No
The "Send a test email" function is working. I'm receiving the test email in my "admin@mydomain" account.

Any help? I can activate users one by one but I don't even know if they'll be notified of this. And I don't want to disable the email confirmation functionality as I will be spammed with bots.

Thanks

Can you get copies of the board logs and server logs and post them back here please?

Try registering an account using this tool: https://www.mail-tester.com/

A perfect score is unlikely however you are going to want to pay particular attention to issues with reverse DNS and blocklists.

Thanks for the help, the problem seems to be fixed. I was using an old "mydomain" on the email addresses, pretty similar to the new one. The old one was deactivated by my host recently and I didn't notice the difference in the email textboxes.
