Couple of things...

Post by Aidy »

1. Is it possible to limit signature links?
2. How do I add recaptcha and other plugins to make it more spam friendly?

Any other features you'd recommend adding in?

Slow progress but getting there, forum link is removed

ACP > Signature settings > Maximum signature links

Do you actually mean "spam friendly" or should that be "spam unfriendly?

Check ACP, General, Board Configuration, Signature Settings, Maximum number of links in user signatures.

You can find extensions on https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extensions-36 but I'd recommend Q&A for that purpose.
Better use questions where the answer can't be googled.

Keep the number of extensions as low as possible.

The ‘how’ is in Installing extensions.

Personally I’d install nothing extra until the board has run for a few weeks, I certainly would not add extensions and styles ad hoc just because you can. If you do install an extension and find you have no use for it remove it.

You should set up Q&A though Knowledge Base - How to configure Q&A CAPTCHA..

Please note we prefer one question one topic thanks.

A good way to deal with bad links is visibly truncate, have them go out via an intermediary page and also no follow them. We do this with our link.php page

So you want a lot more spam on your board? - unusual request as most people want less - well actually most people want none.
