One last thing: it is possible to browse the backupped database offline? How to read a .sql file?
I mean browsing the tables of the database, not browsing the pages of the forum

A .sql file is a text file. It has all of the plain-text insert statements to put the data in the database.

It would be easier to install Xampp locally and use phpMyAdmin to look at the database.
