This is what is happening, any ideas on how to fix ?

This is from the hosters....

Ok so i've taken a look and i believe i can see the issue, the emails are sending, but they are hitting our mail gateway and being blocked due to the spam score they are generating. If its over 2.0 it gets blocked, the rule breakdown for the emails are as follows:

Rule breakdown below
pts rule name description

0.01 FROM_EXCESS_BASE64 From: base64 encoded unnecessarily
1.05 FROM_EXCESS_BASE64_2 From: base64 encoded unnecessarily
1.20 BSF_SC3_MV0891 Custom rule MV0891
0.20 BSF_SC0_MV0713 Custom rule MV0713

The custom rule is something the software developers set and we do not have access to that information.

However this - 1.05 FROM_EXCESS_BASE64_2 From: base64 encoded unnecessarily - i believe that should be rectifiable by changing how the emails are encoded, but i'm not sure where the option/file that would need to be changed in phpbb is.

In your discussion with a phpbb member, can you ask how that could be rectified?

What happens if you turn SMTP off? Have you tried using an email address supplied via your hosting account with SMTP off such as george@mydomain.com for example? [Note: Don't use 'admin@mydomain' in the new email address] Check, test and report back.

There are no ‘threads’ in phpBB, they are topics.

Nope still no error log, so i can only assume it is still being blocked as spam, any way to change that base64 isdue.

I doubt if this will help in your case since I am not sure from your posts on what type of mail service you what to use. but if your host stop support of TLSv1 it might help.

but check this post
