I have a problem with update my phpbb forum to 3.2 version. I used stk clean database script before instalation. After update i've got this error:

What version are you updating/upgrading from and what package are you using?

This is the first Google result so Ițll post here my solution. I had the same error updating from 3.2.1 to 3.2.4. Tried everything, automatic update, and full package. After wasting a few hours, I noticed that in Board Style, "Default style" had no selectable value.

Went to Customize / Styles / prosilver, Activate it. Ran again the installer, DB updated with no errors.

Now it runs on the latest version, mysqli and PHP 7.2 perfectly.

I have a major board to update from 3.0.14 to 3.2.5 (Host changing from PHP5.6 to PHP 7.2) and so I finally have to make the move.

All worked well until I saw that BIG RED BOX with the message that meant absolutely nothing to me. Fortunately I had just RENAMED the INSTALL folder and not deleted it, so I went back and followed your instructions (by WENT TO the author means WENT TO ACP).

2 minutes later it is working perfectly.
