How to manage the ex phpbbseo forum update

Post by Harrison76 »

Hello guys. I write here to ot in other topic,
I write here to not go ot in other topic: I have a very well indexed forum that I would like to update from 3.1 to 3.2 where the plugin for the seo phpBB SEO Ultimate SEO URL is installed, which from what I understand is dead.
How can you handle this update then? Updating it without replacing it is not an option, all indexing would disappear. At the limit you could do some manual redirect 301, but apart from that it would take a lifetime ... I do not know if it is the best way (at the limit you could extract first a list and then create a long manual htaccess? But even there would be a very long htaccess and would weigh down the siot)
Are there any solutions for this? Otherwise, the alternative is to wait for them to arrive... if they ever do, however.

why do you think that the SEO ext. will not work in 3.2 ?

many , if not most 3.1 extensions work just fine in 3.2

do the upgrade locally first to see what happens.

You could also ask the extension author which is the correct path.
