Tie forms to guest sessions setting - what does it mean/do?

Post by z.ukosa » Sun Oct 21, 2018 10:13 am

Hi All!

I'm launching my new board shortly and I'm now looking through available settings to see any decisions that I should make. There is this setting under server configuration/security settings: Tie forms to guest sessions. I would normally leave the default setting as I do for all technical stuff that I don't understand. What's concerning me is that the explanation to this setting reads: "If enabled, the form token issued to guests will be session-exclusive. This can cause problems with some ISPs." And the default setting is "yes/enabled". So I figure "this can cause problems with some ISPs". Should I leave it enabled anyway? I couldn't find any explanation about this setting (I've search this forum and documentation).

Would anyone be so kind and advise me whether I should keep this setting enabled despite the warning? Or better still, explain what this setting refers to in plain English :)

thanks!
Marek

I wouldn’t think it would matter unless you are planning on allowing unregistered guests to post.
