Change the User Role?

Post by enter a valid email » Tue Oct 23, 2018 8:22 pm

sry tomorrow I will be the hole Day onboard the Train and cant replay.
Users and Groups -> Group permissions -> Look up usergroup: -> Newly registered users -> Role: ?!
Here new registert User might have no right to create an Article. So the Role will be wrong.
No how to Edit it?

Everyone who is in the newly registered users group is also in the registered users group so they get their posting permission from there.

everybody, every user should be in the registered user group.
the only reason to use the newly registered user group is if you want to take away some of the permissions for the registered user group until new users have reached a certain number of posts or have had their posts modertated for a while.

the registered user group by default has all the standard permissions to view forums/topics and post in forums /topics etc.

so, if you explain exactly what you are trying to accomplish and why we can probably tell you how to do it without messing with user based permissions at all and without messing with the newly registered user group's permissions at all.

there will be no bots in the newly registered user group.

that group is not even used unless you turn it on in the admin panel.

you are making a problem where there is none.

Which bots and what damage are they causing? If you're talking about search bots they already have their own group.

There are no ‘threads’ in phpBB, they are topics.

... and if you are talking about spam bots there are other/better ways to stop them.
