Post by Joele25 » Sun Oct 28, 2018 9:24 pm

What version of phpBB are you using? phpBB 3.2.3
What is your board's URL? https://deltaforceitalia.eu/forum/index.php
Who do you host your board with? server4you.net
How did you install your board? I used the download package from phpBB.com
What is the most recent action performed on your board? I made a custom dark theme (but this problem persist even without using it)
Is registration required to reproduce this issue? No
Do you have any MODs installed? No (I had back in 3.0.11 and probably my database is still a lil mess up by them)
Do you have any extensions installed? Yes, Steam Web API
What version of phpBB3 did you update from? phpBB 3.2.2
What styles do you currently have installed? Prosilver and a custom one that I made for us
What language(s) is your board currently using? Italian
Which database type/version are you using? MariaDB
What is your level of experience? I love to mess arround with code but I didnt study any of it
What username can be used to view this issue? test
What password can be used to view this issue? test123
What actions did you take (updating your board; installing a MOD, style or extension; etc.) prior to this problem becoming noticeable? I was just trying to get rid of all the old mods that I had back in 3.0.11, plus I made a custom theme.
Please describe your problem. Sometime the page wont load after hitting both send or login. More rarely than this, the forum wont load at all!

What exactly do you mean by "won't load"?

Are you seeing a blank page? If so then that would suggest that there is a suppressed PHP error in one of the files that you have been "messing around" with. Restore your backup of the files that you had before you made the changes.

your cookie settings are wrong:

set cookie secure to yes since you are using ssl for the domain.

change the cookie name ( add or remove a character O)

save changes and purge the cache.

log out of the board and then log back in and refresh the browser.

see what happens.

I messed around just with .css files, nothing to worry about. Right now is working properly for example but I'm totally sure that If I check again tomorrow, errors will occur again.

"wont load" means that when you hit the send button for instance, the browser wong get any respons signal from the forum ending it to display a "cannot find the webpage" message

No problem from here either (and I clicked just about everywhere, naturally I didn't register nor login).

Problem is that it fails to load from time to time, now it's working proprely even for me.. but when it seem to be offline, you can't load it from any device/browser (I tried with different ones along with some other user)

Do your server error and/or access logs show what the problem is?

In Plesk there is an option for each domain that say "Logs" - also there will probably be a folder somewhere on your server called logs.

If neither of those are visible then ask your hosts.

I edited my previous post, btw I changed from

Code: Select all

PHP support (PHP version 7.1.23, run PHP as FastCGI application served by Apache)
to

Code: Select all

PHP support (PHP version 7.1.23, run PHP as FPM application served by nginx)
hoping that this solve my problem

Nope, still nothing. I tried to send a message to the board after activing real time logs but as it feiled to load the page, the real time log stayed clean. I really dont know what's happening here
