that php version should work just fine.
php 7.3 may not even be officially released yet. not sure.
however, phpbb is not setup to work on it yet as far as I know.

so, stick with php 5.6.x and you will be fine.

I don't see any vendor/marc1706 in a clean phpBB, and I have no idea what that is, but I suspect something to do with an extension. Before updating, it's safer to disable all extensions before updating (except the ones that come standard with phpBB) just in case the extension version is not compatible with the phpBB update. (That's my advice, not necessarily endorsed by phpBB).

Definitely there in both 3.2.2 and 3.2.3 (not checked any earlier versions).

An extension would not (or at least should not) write files to the main vendor folder - it would have them in its own vendor folder.

OK, my mistake  , I had looked in the 3.2.0 package. It seems it's there as of 3.2.2

True, and that's why it seemed out of place to me.

Hello,
just made a new try:
- backup config.php
- Deleted complete forum. This time with all subdirs.
- Upload of the latest phpBB files.
- Copy back config.php
- open ../my_forum/install
- select tab update
- run update
- no errors

Click link for forum and i get:
EMPTY FORUM.

What is (damn) procedure to get this forum back without any errors on post or registration.
Thank you very much

Ignore last Mail.
After deleting folder
"install"

the forum restored and now registration works without error.
Thank you for all advice!
