Multiple instances (windows) of db

Post by coiffer » Tue Nov 13, 2018 6:53 am

Is there any issue with having multiple instances of a board open on a laptop? This morning I signed onto my board in two different windows with two different usernames, and it seems to work fine. I ask because obviously both of these users have the same IP address. No conflicts there?

thanks

I think I've answered my own question here, I tried as admin to go to ACP and could not...

No problem at all having multiple instances of phpBB open either in the same browser or different browsers on the same machine - with the same, or different users, makes no difference. You can even have the same user active on two different machines at the same time.

No, neither serving them on one laptop, nor accessing them on one. Boy, that would be a waste if one needs one distinctive computer for each software.

This morning
The time is also irrelevant.

Depends on the internet browser: by default just two different windows of the same software should share the same sessions (speak: it should not be possible). But if both windows are using a "private mode" then they'll isolate sessions.

When sitting at work then most likely all people accessing your board from there have the same IP address - session distinction isn't done by the IP address alone.

The problem is probably not my English but you do not want to understand correctly.
