Bring my two fora back to live

Post by Marz505 » Tue Feb 26, 2019 4:09 pm

I have a request. My two phpbb forums are dead. I dont know what exactly happened but the database shoukd be intact and the problem should be in the code or an update:

1. www.maltawildplants.com/forum >>> error 500
2. www.marz-kreations.com/Diary/index.php >>> mwpforum2017.phpbb_styles_template' doesn't exist [1146]

I am very rusty to handle this so I am ready to pay someone to take care of this. Some sites say that I need to restore the database but from where if I cant even log into the board?

Wish to have these old fora back, almost 18 years old, one is a diary of all events of my children with many photos, etc.

Thanks

I try to rescue the boards, the first one was simple, just update it to phpbb3.2.5 and it was back
(host change the php version to 7.2 )
But the second and much older boards (3.0.6) gives problems.

I install it first on my computer and everything is working on php5.6
Than update it to version 3.0.1 but than, when clicking on a post I get this error:

Code: Select all

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'DESC LIMIT 60' at line 7 [1064]

I can run the STK to clean the database but that doesn't help.

Any ideas?

My guess would be that the stk has not removed everything as I would not expect two consecutive DESC in a query.

I don't have any files that old!!

Not sure what is going on and it may be something to do with a MOD that has corrupted something but try changing line 453 from ORDER BY t.topic_type " . ((!$store_reverse) ? 'DESC' : 'ASC') . ', ' . $sql_sort_order; to ORDER BY t.topic_type " . ((!$store_reverse) ? 'DESC' : 'ASC') . ', ';

It might give some strange result but it should allow you to move on.

Yes that is working :D

Now going to 3.1.0

In 3.1.0 this error

Code: Select all

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'DESC LIMIT 60' at line 4 [1064]

SQL

SELECT t.topic_id FROM (phpbb_topics t) WHERE t.forum_id = 20 AND t.topic_type IN (0, 1) AND 1 = 1 ORDER BY t.topic_type DESC, DESC LIMIT 60

CALL: msg_handler()

LINE: 855
CALL: trigger_error()

FILE: [ROOT]/phpbb/db/driver/mysql.php
LINE: 181
CALL: phpbb\db\driver\driver->sql_error()

FILE: [ROOT]/phpbb/db/driver/mysql_base.php
LINE: 45
CALL: phpbb\db\driver\mysql->sql_query()

FILE: [ROOT]/phpbb/db/driver/driver.php
LINE: 261
CALL: phpbb\db\driver\mysql_base->_sql_query_limit()

FILE: [ROOT]/phpbb/db/driver/factory.php
LINE: 321
CALL: phpbb\db\driver\driver->sql_query_limit()

FILE: [ROOT]/viewforum.php
LINE: 581
CALL: phpbb\db\driver\factory->sql_query_limit()
Edit , changed line 550 and can go further
Try 3.1.12 now

Update, now a working 3.2.5 board but still with the edits from David.
I don't understand it but it is working.
