Yes, you can do it yourself in cPanel.

Thank you. And is there any particular version you wish to recommend? I am making fresh install of the latest phpBB 3.2.7.
Love & Regards,
Harish Kumar.

The highest available, but not 7.3 or higher until phpBB is compatible. Currently php 7.2 should do just fine.
My board's not broken, it just went peculiar

Hi All,
I changed the version to PHP 7.2 and it technically says it has applied PHP 7.2 (ea-php72)

I don't know what (ea-php72) is, but that is what is displayed ib brackets after PHP 7.2 right next to the domain names for which I have made the changes. I hope it is fine.

I actually have one more question. I am a Maths Tutor and I am using the forum to explain Math problems. So I need a modification that will give me a BBcode for Math symbols such as square root, division sign and a few other such math related stuff. Is such a mod available?

Also I need to embed YouTube videos into the forum posts, so that they can watch it directly in the forum. Is that possible? What mod will you recommend for it?

Again, will PHP 7.2 (ea-php72) support the above Mods?

Also when I explored the phpBB.com site (this site), I found under the customise topic, the modification topic. There it is stated that:

MODifications are no longer supported
Please note that MODifications are no longer supported since phpBB 3.0 is End of life. As such, some of the old information on this page has been removed.

So, what does that mean? Can I install MODs or I will have to wait for the next version of phpBB ?

Thanks in advance!
Love & Regards,
Harish Kumar.

phpBB from version 3.1 doesn't use mods it uses extensions. If the PHP version is supported the extensions should be ok but you can always research the extension to make sure.

I believe I saw an old request for something similar years ago, I suggest you have a search of the extensions forums and, if you can't find anything that suits your purpose, you can make an extension request.

phpBB Media Embed PlugIn will handle your youtube stuff.

As a general rule if you're looking for extrensions you should search the extensions forums or make an extension request.

Try this - https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/mathjax_2/
or this - viewtopic.php?f=456&t=2481476

Agreed, with the addition that for the latter it's no longer release candidate: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/v12mike_symbols

Thank you very much, Mick.

I was under the impression that MODs were for changing functionality and Extensions were for altering the visual appearance, hence I did not search the Extensions forums completely.

By that, do you mean it is still not ready or use?

On the contrary. It is validated and released. But... it's for 3.2.3 and I don't know whether it's being used on 3.2.7

As warmweer confirmed, I was providing a link to the validated and released version of the extension (https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/v12mike_symbols), which is what you want to use instead of the "release candidate" discussion thread (viewtopic.php?f=456&t=2481476) which currently links to a pre-release version hosted on github.
