As far as I'm aware, Viglink does not add links anywhere on your site. It merely appends certain shopping links with a code to retrieve some revenue.static1635 wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 10:07 am Just a note to say, I was happy to leave Vglink on my forum but some of the sites it links to are not old dear friendly and some of the old dears on my forum were rather offended.
Even after I killed it via FTP etc the links still show. It behaves like spyware.
Yeah I agree, it sounds like it might be spam bots. static1635, are the links mainly posted by users who don't have many posts and don't contribute in any meaningful way to the community?KevC wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 11:24 amAs far as I'm aware, Viglink does not add links anywhere on your site. If you had dodgy ads appearing it wasn't coming from viglink.
Patently false. When a CDB-approved extension's files are removed and cache is purged there is absolutely no code for it left to execute. Even if there are database modifications that are left behind there will be no functionality that will actually use any of that and certainly nothing to modify posted text either before it gets stored nor when it gets displayed.static1635 wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 10:07 am Even after I killed it via FTP etc the links still show. I believe that would be links that people like you and me and several others here that are "old dears", might not find friendly.
