missing module

Post by Lumpy Burgertushie » Tue Jun 11, 2019 10:41 pm

I am officially going crazy here.

I am trying to enable the advertising ext. it keeps telling me there is a module missing. the ACP_PHPBB_ADDS_TITLE module.

it was right, it was somehow listed as UCP instead of ACP. however, the point is that why would it expect that module to be there when I am enabling the ext. does not the enable function create the modules along with all the tables etc.?

thanks,
robert

nevermind, I finally got it. just takes the right combination of holding one foot in the air while spinning three times and calling it a very very bad name.

thanks,
robert

How exactly did you fix it? I had a similar issues, but I can't remember how I fixed it.

hard to say, I just kept disabling it and deleting the data and enabling it and getting errors and disabling it and getting errors and deleting data and getting errors and then finally I disabled it and deleted the data and enabled it and it worked.

crazy.

Have you reported it in the support topic for the extension?

Yeah, I think that sounds like the extension is at fault in the way it's coded.

I don't think it has anything to do with the extension. I think it might have been a bad install of the 3.1 version of the ext. and therefore, when I tried to disable and delete data it crashed it. then I tried to install the current version and it crashed because there were some parts of the old one in the database etc.
once I got the old one completely removed and got the partial installs of the new one sorted it, it was a matter of deleting the data for it one more time.

anyway, it works, the customer is happy, I am happy, don't worry be happy.

thanks to all for the help and advice,

robert
