phpBB error when users post?

Post by captcrunch » Mon Jun 24, 2019 10:23 pm

Hi all,

When users are posting / creating topics, they are getting the following phpBB error:

Code: Select all

[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/includes/functions_messenger.php on line 506: count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable
[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/includes/functions.php on line 1836: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at [ROOT]/includes/functions.php:3268)
How do I fix this?

That looks like which was addressed in phpBB 3.2.4 and later. So presumably you're running an older version, and could resolve it by updating to phpBB 3.2.7.

The warning is something that was introduced in PHP 7.2 and later. So if your hosting provider allows you to easily switch to an earlier PHP 7.1.x version, that should be an alternative workaround for this particular warning, too.
