how do i get rid of Site name and Description?

Post by miroslavglavic » Tue Jul 09, 2019 8:28 pm

So I installed the latest PHPBB, updated the logo. changed the width via those two files to change the name of file and size.

However the TEXT site name and description are beside the logo.

how do I get rid of the text site name and description? or do I just change it to a space in each text field?

Going from memory in overall_header.html there should be some fields with sitename and description. Try removing those (keep a backup) and then clear the cache through the ACP.

or, you could just leave those boxes empty in the board settings in the admin panel.

Yeah, I thought about that but wasn't sure that the fields can be left empty. Most probdaly they can and then that eliminates unnecessary editing.

the only problem with leaving them empty is that is where google etc. gets the sitename and description from in many cases.

You could do this in an extension/custom CSS.

Code: Select all

<style>
.site-description h1, .site-description p {
    display: none;
}
</style>
