Database Configuration Error

Post by Repair Club » Tue Jul 16, 2019 1:45 pm

I have been running a phpBB forum successfully for the last 16 months. I then decided to get it hosted under a new domain name.
My WEB hosting service provider transferred everything to my new domain name hosting site.
Everything was there and complete except now when I attempt to go to it, using my browser, I get the following message:

SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]
Access denied for user 'onlinere_kensdb1'@'localhost' (using password: YES) [1045]
An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

My WEB hosting provider then advised me that ‘the database configuration for the domain seems to be incorrect’.

I would be grateful for any advice as I can not get into it to correct any errors even if I new what I had to correct?

Check that the details in config.php match up with the new domain you have, password and username specifically. All details in config.php MUST be 100% correct.

When you moved to your "new" host did you change the data in your config.php file to match that of the database on your new host?

Edit - Mick can type quicker :)
