TABLE phpbb_topics_posted stopped working

Post by mascotje » Tue Jul 16, 2019 5:21 pm

Just found out that the phpb_topics_posted.
The last posts/topics that were added are from december 2009

Never noticed
All of the function we use on the forum always worked fine al those years, and still do.

I cannot figure out what the function of this table is, but it must be there with a reason
It would be nice to have it fixed.

Found this code to rebuild the table

Code: Select all

INSERT INTO `phpbb_topics_posted` (user_id, topic_id, topic_posted) SELECT DISTINCT `poster_id`, `topic_id`, '1' FROM `forum_posts`
After emptying the table I used thiscode, and everything looked fine.

But............. everything posted after that 'repair' is still not added

How to solve this?

I hope someone can help me out :)

On the Load Settings page, there is a setting called "Enable Dotted Topics".
Make sure that is set to Yes.

If "Dotted Topics" in dutch means "Aangestipte onderwerpen inschakelen:" (i think it does), then the problem must be solved now

 Thank you very much

There is one thing I do not understand:
What is the function of saving dottedtopics, I mean....... Where does it show on the forum?

That table lists the topics someone has posted in and will be used to decide whether an image with or without a dot is used (showing that you have or have not posted in it).Image
If you have not posted in that topic, the image will be without a dot. Image

The base image I chose is the image for an unread topic.

Yes. The idea is to mark all of the topics you have posted in from the forumview, without doing a slow/nasty multiple-joined sql select.

Thank you

I never knew.
So that is why I couldn.t find out

We use our own images. I'll have to make an extra one with such a star for example, otherwise it still won't be visible for users

Thanks again

Jeanne
