Select language when registering is only possible 1x

Post by Tastenplayer » Wed Jul 31, 2019 12:58 pm

What I noticed today
Click in my Styleforum on registrieren
Change: Sprache
If someone chose the wrong language, they can no longer choose another language. The first selected language is always displayed.
E.g. you choose Nederlands by mistake instead Français doesn't change it anymore.

I've tried this at least 10 times now - it definitely doesn't work.
I noticed that when I tried to check the translation in the footer.

In my forum in this case you can click on the correct flag above. But what if you don't have easy_language_change ext installed?

My guess is that the "easy_language" extension is causing the problem

Now no other language can be selected at all.

Doubly strange: In my local Quickinstall TB this works with installed easy_language" extensionand and without ext. without problems. But I only have the languages DE and EN installed there.

Same problem. But as mentioned above: in my Local Quickinstall TB it works fine. But I only installed the languages EN and DE in the local board.

It works as expected on my development board. I change the language and when the page refreshes the drop-down language selector is still there allowing me to change the language to another language.

Tested on a new clean install (phpbb3.2.7) on localhost (php7.1) with English , Dutch and French, no problem here. (no extensions nor modifications).
My board's not broken, it just went peculiar

As soon as I install another language in the local TB (fr, it, nl) there is exactly the same problem as in my styleforum. If I uninstall this language again, it works as it should.

Localboard php 7.1.19
Styleforum php 7.2.20

N.B.
Right :-(
All styles and extensions in TB disabled.
Dutch (Casual Honorifics) installed.
Now everything works as it should.

I should have thought of it sooner. I thought it might be a problem in 3.2.7.

In my local TB

I reactivated the extensions individually. Changing languages worked without any problems.
A style installed didn't work correctly anymore.
Style uninstalled and to make sure it's not because of my style nosebleed installed.
It didn't work as it should.
Style uninstalled and style pro_ubuntu_lucid installed, didn't work correctly again.
As soon as several styles are installed - it does not work to change the language every time. If I choose another style in the stylechanger, I can change another language to register. :)

To rule out that the browser is the problem, several browsers have been taken.

You were definitely right after all. You just can't test it with Firefox or Chrome. The Opera browser has now shown me clearly that it seems to be related to this extension.
Then you just have to live with it. As long as it is not a problem of phpBB 3.2.7, or one of my styles.
