cookie domain

Post by Chappie » Tue Nov 05, 2019 11:08 pm

I'm reading about cookie domains here: https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3 ... -settings/

- but I can't really find an cookie-example that supports my site-URL

1)
Lets say that I have a forum at this url: http://www.mysite.org/phpbb/
Then the cookie-domain will be: .mysite.org is this correct?

2)
I want to remove the directory "phpbb" and have the forum directly under the the root-dir /public_html/

What should my cookie-domain be if the site-URL is : http://www.mysite.org/

and to purge the board cache after changing the cookie settings. (preferably also the browser cache).
The year is 2192. The British Prime Minister visits Brussels to ask for an extension of the Brexit deadline. No one remembers where this tradition originated, but every year it attracts many tourists from all over the world.

Ok so the cookie-domain is .mysite.org and applies to both?
( http://www.mysite.org/phpbb/ and http://www.mysite.org/ )

what do you mean about changing the script path?

have I missed something, because I have no idea what you mean, can you be more specific ? :)

also, unless for some reason you have set "force url settings" to yes, you don't have to worry about the script path or any of those server settings.

they only apply if you set the force to yes and there is rarely a reason to do that.
