Tables where are stored IP addresses.

Post by new.new »

I need a list of all the tables where are stored information about IP addresses of users/admins.

In the future I may leave my forum to another person, so i'd like to remove all information about my IPs before doing so.

Manually browsing the database i found that the following tables have information about IP addresses:
- log
- posts
- privmsgs
but probably there are many others, is it possible to have a complete list?
Please take into account that i have an admin account, so there are also admin logs and similar things

Why do you want to remove your IP addresses?
It are just numbers?

Since you can browse the database, you should be able to find them easily by just looking at the table definitions (and to make it easy you could extract table definitions and then just do a textsearch).
Anyway, trusting memory and logic there should also be IPs listed in
_users (how you missed this one is a mistery)
_login_attempts
_sessions
_session_keys

and I'm not 100% sure of this but I think _banlist also (since IP's can be banned).
BTW as I mentioned, this is using memory and a bit of logic so I could have missed a table or 2.
We should embrace problems, without which there wouldn't be any solutions.

Thank you, so for the moment we have:
_log
_posts
_privmsgs
_users
_login_attempts
_sessions
_session_keys

_banlist simply contains banned ip addresses, i don't need to delete them.
If anyone remembers other tables that contain ip addresses, please tell me.
This can also be useful, thanks

and the bottom line is that nobody can tell anything about you from an IP address other than who your ISP is and in a very general way, what city you are in. nobody yet has been able to even tell what city I am in from any of the IP addresses I have used with my ISP in all these years.

The bottom line is while that may be true most of the time it is not always true and people may have reasons or purposes unknown to yourself. The question being asked here is not why or should I but where they are located at. Opinions are important but they should not overshadow the answer to questions like this.

5 years ago these table columns stored IP addresses (Re: Storage of a shortened ip):
  • phpbb_banlist.ban_ip
  • phpbb_log.log_ip
  • phpbb_login_attempts.attempt_ip
  • phpbb_poll_votes.vote_user_ip
  • phpbb_posts.poster_ip
  • phpbb_privmsgs.author_ip
  • phpbb_sessions.session_ip
  • phpbb_sessions_keys.last_ip
  • phpbb_sitelist.site_ip
  • phpbb_users.user_ip
