Ip blocking ineffective

Post by poiu »

I've blocked a user's ip address, but it still manages to log in. What to do?

Log in or log in and post?

It doesn't stop them logging in but they'll see a message saying they've been banned and they shouldn't be able to do anything.

It also does not stop them logging in if they change their IP address.

Banning IP address is pointless

You are correct. IP blocking is mostly ineffective. Most users get a new IP every time they connect to their ISP.

Yes but what did they do?
Just log in or actually post as well?

Can you give us a screenshot of a post before the ban and one showing that post's IP, and the same for a post after the ban?
